4 Amazing Things to do in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Rio de Janeiro has become one of the most well-known cities in the world, and observing it was an ideal come reality for me! To begin with, the city is beautiful. It’s picture-perfect because of the surrounding mountains, white-sand beaches, and flora.
I’ve travelled to Rio several times and have explored the city! Yet, to be completely frank with you not a professional. Selarón Steps
A journey to Rio de Janeiro isn’t complete unless you stop by the famed Selarón Steps for a photo or two. Jorge Selarón, a Chilean-born Brazilian artist, designed these world-famous steps to brighten up the city’s grey and drab areas. Because of Brazil’s flag, the tiles were green, yellow, and blue. But, because he was a Chilean at heart, Jorge made sure to include plenty of red tiles in honour of his country’s flag. The initiative grew so successful that travellers from all over the world would gift him tiles from their own countries, resulting in over 60 countries being represented!
Yacht
A sailboat tour is a pleasant way to see the sites or a good way to unwind after a long day of touring Rio. On this 3-Hour Sailing Experience, you’ll get to see Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf from a new perspective while sailing across Guanabara Bay and the open waters. Plus, while sipping your welcome drink and munching on nibbles, take in Rio’s spectacular skyline! The fee per adult is $50 USD, and transportation to and from the dock is not included. You will meet at PIER A2 (blue cabin to the left of the waterfront), which can be discovered by coming down from the taxi drop-off point at Marina da Glória.
Tijuca National Park
Rio de Janeiro’s Tijuca National Park is a vast tropical rainforest in the city’s core. It’s so massive that it’s the globe’s biggest urban forest! The park features thirty different rivers and acres of beautiful jungle, along with magnificent views of the city below. It’s difficult to believe while you’re there, but this forest was created by humans! Tijuca National Park can be on a guided tour or independently. There is no admission price if you go on your own, but you must take the bus from the town centre or rent a car and drive yourself, which I recommend. While it may cost a little more, you will discover all about what makes Tijuca unique while you are there.

Ilha Grande
Ilha Grande constitutes one of the most stunning islands in Brazil. It’s a popular tourist site and a place I adored! Ilha Grande is a true island paradise, with pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters. It takes around 3 hours to go to the island from Rio, first by bus and then by ferry – that’s one of the most enjoyable day trips from Rio. When you reach the territory, you are able to go on tours, go for either long or short strolls, or have a party if you like.
We stayed in Ilha Grande for six nights and had a great time! The finest tour we took was this boat tour of the island’s north side for about $45 USD. We saw so many beautiful beaches on the tour, all while enjoying a couple cocktails on our boat (at an more expense). The tour was exactly what we required!
